- tried every combination. im currently installing it on a drive it can BARELY see(5th attempt???). ive replaced the battery with a dead one. CD-ROM can't have a jumper. floppy drive must have power but no signal (i don't even use it) i kinda still love it 06:25 PM Sep 7th
- btw, this win 98 was working... then i replaced the battery(computer from 2000) +added network card and since then its been getting worse. at this point it cannot identify any hard drive, yesterday it would make them run really loudly and creaky 06:18 PM Sep 7th
- @VMWaredSinister oh thats great, i thought it would be harder. i remember back then how disappointed i was when my super cool horse-riding-game wouldnt work or when i tried to run steam, and the computer would just shut down immediately. i was terrified.. 05:51 PM Sep 7th
- i mean, it sounds stupid cause xp came out in 2001. but it was still in use for many many years afterward. i changed my computer and os from win xp right away to win 10 04:19 PM Sep 7th
- @barney86 tbh i don't consider windows xp a really old system. its certainly not new, but i used it just a few years ago as well. on my first computer i had for years. i'm not sure what you mean tho, good for you. i bet it's challenging to play games on it 04:12 PM Sep 7th
